Bushing question

A bit ago, I replaced the bushing in my !#**&%#@ Llama 1911 clone in 38 Super. Well, the lesson of buying cheap parts was learned well. After about 300 rounds, the bushing cracked. Okay, no sweat, picked up a good one. Fitted it nicely, now the slide hangs up when the slide is retracted all the way. The new bushing is about 3/16" longer than the original. Is it okay to cut (mill) that extra length off of the back of the bushing? There seems to be no reason why not, but it better to ask.

Thanks.

While you COULD mill it off to the proper length, it is usually done by turning in a lathe. No matter; you could even file it or grind it to length. Just remember to deburr the end you cut.
