Depending on the specific model of the judge you have you may be able too. Not all models of the Judge can safely fire 454 Casull.. Its not a round that I enjoy....

No. Don't do this unless Taurus sends you written permission. Which they won't because if the Judge was designed for .454 Casull it would say so. Only the raging Judge is capable for that round.

i dont think they couldent shoot it, the reason is they fit , they make a 38 not to hold a 357 round but they work vice versa, if the round fits wouldent it open tem up to hugh liability? unless its designed to handle the load?

.454 is about three times the boom a .45 colt is. don't shoot it unless the gun/manufacturer says you can. you would be risking very serious injury.

SAAMI pressure rating of a .410 is 13,500 CUP

SAAMI pressure rating of 45 colt is 14,000 CUP

SAAMI pressure on a 454 Casull is 50,000 CUP

Judge isn't designed for it so my advice is no, no, 100 times no.

There's some kind of "SuperJudge" built on the "Raging" series frame. Called the "Raging Judge" . Try it in anything else and yeah, "once" is exactly right. You'll scatter a regular Judge across the range.

the raging Judge can take a 454 but a normal Judge will blow up with a 454

Does EVERY post about a Taurus have to turn into a bash for you?

Sadly No. Unless you got lucky and your cylinder is made of Tungsten or Carbon Steel. Other wise you can't. But you can in the new Taurus Raging Judge. It can shoot .45 Long Colt, .410 Gauge Shells, and .454 Casull.

ghalleen, while bashing can get old, I would note that several of the forum members who bash Taurus quite a bit are gun dealers who deal in large volumes of handguns... that would make me go, hmmmm....

guys in the business of selling guns, who let it be known they don't like or won't carry some guns... even though those guns are very popular and sell like hotcakes... hmmm, why would they do that? Obviously, no reason...

On a side note, All steel is carbon steel. When you mix (alloy) a little carbon with iron, what you get is steel. Check with this web site:
http://www.steel.org/
It belongs to the American Iron and Steel Institute of America.

If you do it, take a video so we can watch the video at your funeral! I wouldn't try it. Big difference in pressure. Just because it fits is absolutely no reason just to assume it is safe!

The Redhawk is not produced in .454 Casull. The Super Redhawk is. They are totally different guns.

Before you try, send address of where to send flowers.
Question: Why would you want to?

I've seen it done. I should have taken pictures. Long story short, don't do it.

No. It just gets old, and doesn't add anything of value to the post. If someone asks a question about Taurus quality, then have at it. But this post was a question about something entirely different.
