just bought a mauser. what now?
Ok i just ordered my first mauser off of gunbroker. its a yugo m24.47 with bent bolt, any recommendations on what type of ammo i should get?
I dont mind the corrosive surplus ( I clean the heck out of my guns after i shoot em) and i want to keep it cheap, ive heard bad things about the 50s yugo ammo, but the romanian and turk ammo looks alright and is still pretty cheap. Does anybody know what works best in this type of mauser? thanks in advance

I've had a Turkish Mauser for several years and it will digest any ammo I put in it without a hitch. I suspect that your rifle will do the same.

i have found that remington 170 cor-lokt ammo seems to shoot very well out of all my mausers. i know you want to keep it cheap, but if you ever need a factory load for hunting, i would look into the rem. core-lokt ammo line. it is very downloaded, but will kill a deer no prob. i want to use my mauser and m1 garand for deer, but i live in the communist state of illinois, so that aint going to happen until i find somewhere to hunt out of these state lines. good luck, and have fun shooting!

It's going to get lonely, you should go out and get it a little brother.

I have a lot of the Romanian stuff and it's been great for me. Never a problem.
