JC Higgins Model 20 ID
Need to accurately ID a JC Higgins Model 20 pump shotgun.
I know that High Standard built the model 20, which HS calls the model 200, but this gun I'm working on has one difference in particular. It's in the shape and size of the cartridge stop. I'm convinced this is in fact a High Standard 200 but it's of a variation that is not listed in Jack First or Numrich. Without actually paying attention to the diagram, I ordered the cartridge stop and retaining pin from Numrich. Both were wrong. The cartridge stop is too short and the retaining pin actually had threads on the tip end and a standard screwdriver slot to screw it in with. This pin is too big also. The gun I have has a straight 1/16" pin, no threads, and must be drilled out. I have already drilled this pin out and it was made of soft metal, easily drilled with a sharp bit. If anyone could point me to a variation of the High Standard 200 other than the ones in the Jack First catalogue or Numrich catalogue, I would appreciate it. |
