Franchi vs. Benelli mechanism
I understand the basic difference between a gas operated and a mechanical operated semi-auto. Can anyone tell me the difference between the Franchi and the Benelli. The are both mechanical are the essentially the same?
Thanks Jim |

Which Franchi?
The I-12, IIRC, is the same inertia recoil system of the Benellis. I think the 712 and 720 is also but not entirely sure. The 48 AL is a long stroke recoil like the old Auto 5. They've since dropped their gas op guns a long time ago before Benelli took them over.
