coach gun misfire

I have a Rossi coach gun in 12 ga. It fires about 30% of the time. When it fires primers have a nice dent in them, When it don't (most of the time it don't) the primers have just a slight very small dent. This happens with both barrels. Gun is like new and shot very little, any ideas?

Sounds like a problem with the hammer fall speed - a.k.a., hammer spring problems.

Could also possibly be a problem with the firing pins hanging up, but I doubt it.

Exposed hammers? My norinco was doing the same until I noticed the hammer was dragging against the side of the stock. Sand paper and wood stain fixed it.
