For the guy getting the 870. ..sure!!
JK/ i saw the laminate stocked 870, 20ga recently for about $230.00. A slug barrel would be worth a bit more maybe. I know the mossy 500 is similar in price. Sounds like a good swap so long as everyone's getting what they want. |

that depends on wants needs and desires... who is getting the 20ga? Is the 500 an A model (12 ga) or is it also a 20?
What are the intended use for the one you own now and of the one you get? The 20 is limited in available loads but is easier to shoot with equally powerful loads if not in reality at least mentally... Now where were we Brent |

I would love to give you advise on trading, but before I say a word you should spill the works, define the flavor of 870 you have wingmaster/Express, is it a fully rifled barrel or a smooth bore with rifle sights?
and on and on! I never trade evens, I always try to make something on any deal, I in general would want something extra for my 870's, guess that is why I still have 5 of them. Good Luck on the trade

Sorry I wasn't more detailed, its an 870 express slug gun with the rail sight mount. I won it in a gun raffle and would like to trade it for something a little more useful (in my view) for home defense.

I think you may have the better valued gun... I would insist on around 100 rounds of GOOD ammo as booty...

Keep the 20 gauge 870. Buy a used 500.
