I have a Moss 590 that has about 20 rounds through it. It likes to stick in the loaded position and is difficult to cycle. Once I get the cyle started it is fine but it takes a some force to get it to start. Does anyone have any experience with this problem and is it something that I can fix myself or does it need to go to a Smith. I just want a smoother cylce from start to finish.

Unless there is actually something wrong with it, it is probably just new. I would cycle the slide for a while with some lube on the rails. It should smooth out. The other thing that comes to mind that could be an ammo problem. There have been cases where the shell swells and is hard to dislodge from the chamber.
Otherwise, yes you should have someone familiar with shotguns look it over

GBTX, I just got a new mossy 590 as well. I want that baby so buttery that when I stand it on its butt, the slide begins to drop open for me. I have only had for 2 months and 500 rounds - I know I am gonna need several thousand - but that's half the fun -right?

Make sure it's EMPTY, and sit in front of the TV with it. Hold down the slide release and pump it until your arms are tired. Swap hands and do it again. Now lube up the action bars with one drop each of CLP. Slip 2000,etc. Try it again. This should work polish the parts enough to make things slick. If not, repeat. Now run a coupla cases of ammo through it. If it's still rough, then take it to a smith, but I doubt it'll be needed.

You can also take the mag tube off and rub some 600 or so grit sandpaper on the corners of the action bars to smooth them out. Don't rub too much though.
Or like Dave said, run a couple hundred rounds through it.
