I have just recently aquired this cva .50 cal percussion cap rifle and pietta 1858 .44 cal army and have had a blast shooting them. I go through far less rounds than when shooting my mosin and its like fishing it is more laid back and relaxing. I'm lucky that I have a local range owned by a muzzle loading club that has monthly shoots and members can use the range any time. So my son and I have been working twards membership and they are a great resource for information etc.

Yup, this is what drove me to black powder, too.

I will say that you can definetely go through more rounds in the revolver. ;)

Glad you are enjoying your new acquisitions! Welcome to the realm of holy black! :)

Man, I started off with one 1860, and now I have I don't know 15 or more black powder guns, lol! It is very addicting.

It really should be considered a sickness...but a very enjoyable one. Nice start to the collection.
