Tell me what to buy, PLEASE!

Howdy, all!

I'm looking for a DA auto for concealed carry. Preferably something on the small side.

My preferences:
.40 cal (would prefer .45 actually)
Small/light enuf to not be a burden for every day carry
Stainless (I'm a sweater!...and NOT the kind you wear!)

Like an earlier poster, I am looking seriously at the Kahr. I've seen a couple of good reviews on them and I like their styling. I think I can get one for around $430 or so.

I checked out the Kel-Tec website and wasn't very impressed looking at the pictures...the finish doesn't look that great. Are they just bad pictures? The Kel-Tec seems to be very popular based on what I've seen here...

My favorite weapon is the 1911...I have a Detonic that I really like, but the holster I'll be using doesn't have a strap to block the hammer and I'm a little uncomfortable carrying a SA auto that way.

Are any of the H&K's small enuf for comfortable concealed carry?

Any advice would be appreciated!

You should check into getting a Braveheart Kydex Holster for your detonics. The way it is designed will keep you from swiping off the safety when carrying cocked and locked. http://www.kytac.com Also if you are looking for a light weight 1911 , you should check out a Kimber Ultra carry. The CDP Ultra carrys well in a Braveheart holster. It is also one of the fastest drawing holsters out there, not that you can draw fast from IWB, But it is a great setup.They are reasonably priced too. http://www.skdtac.com is where I ordered my braveheart from for my compact Kimber and I had it in 2 days. Great people to do business with.

MK 40 with a Kramer Pocket holster or Kramer belt scabbard. when you put it in the lock up at night wipe it down with a gun cloth.

i carry one every day and believe me it becomes like a part of you. i went out the back door yesterday to take out the trash without it. as i was walking across the yard i remember thinking it felt strange. i reached back to my back pocket and it really felt empty. i guess i need to put it on with my pants. you never know who may be lurking by the trash.

Glock 27 or 30.

they aren't stainless steel but they're at least as rust resistant. they're also extreemly light and small but pack a lot of firepower. the G30 has amazingly little recoil for a sub-compact .45, its the lightest recoiling .45 i've ever shot. also they're both very accurate especially the G30.

the HK USP Compact is small but not even close to the G27 or G30's size. it's more comparable to the Glock 23 but its still bigger than that.

Absolutely a Glock 27. Small, light, durable, reliable, and shockingly accurate.

I don't care how much you sweat, it won't affect a Glock.

How do you feel about a S&W CS45. I bought one, got a double action trigger job done, and I am happy with it. It fits in the Fletch holster I have for my Sig P226/P228. The CS45 weighs about 24 ounces and is totally reliable. Regards, Richard.

I wasn't aware S&W made a .45. That's a nice looking gun and I am definitely interested... What the heck is a TDA action, though?

Any other votes for the S&W CS45?

If you can live with carrying 4 less rounds, the Glock 36 is more comfortable to carry than the 30. And like everyone else said; sweating is not an issue with a Glock.

Try with the HK USP Compact SS in .40 (10+1 rounds) or .45 (8+1 rounds).

Reliable, accurate, small enough and light handgun.
