Been looking at upgrading the trigger on the new-to-me Howa 1500 I recently picked up as it's pretty rough and heavy as is. I'm wanting a drop in trigger that's about 2 lbs. I looked on Brownells and they sell a Jard (that doesn't have a very good review) and a Timney that doesn't state the weight or have any reviews. Any other drop in aftermarket triggers I should be looking at?

Timney makes a good trigger... I have no reservations about buying one of their triggers... Pull weights availiable from 1.5-4 pounds...

Either Timney or Rifle Basix for triggers for the Howa. Either one is good, and they're about the same price.

I have a Jard, Inc. (http://www.jardinc.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=13&Itemid=31) trigger on my Ruger MkII. It is very good. Lighter than advertised, but I'm happy about that actually. Highly recommended.

The newer Howas adjust down to about 3lbs. If you want to go lower then try Timney. I used one for a while and it's a nice trigger.

If Rifle Basix offers one get it. Simple easy to follow instructions I have used them in 3 rifles a Marlin 917v in 17HMR, A Ruger M77 Mark II, and a Stevens 200 LOVE them all. Like breaking a little glass rod.

If the current Howa triggers adjust down to 3 lbs you really shouldn't go lower on a hunting rifle because of weather and the use of gloves and being cold, etc.
