Blackhorn 209 cartridge loads?

Has anyone used Blackhorn 209 in cartridges?

I have tried it in .357 magnum and 158 grain lasercast flat point round nose bullets.
13.7 grains by weight powder. I didn't chronograph it but it seems to shoot quite well.
This charge also works quite well with a .360 lead roundball seated in the case but with my fixed sight Ruger Vaquero, the point of impact was several inches low with this light 70 grain bullet.

I'm hoping to try it in my .44 magnum and .45-70 soon but haven't gotten around to it yet.

As far as I can tell, this stuff is simply a smokeless powder engineered for extra bulk. A pile of it set on fire with a match burns much like smokeless powder and it even has that ether like smell when you open the container.

This may be just the powder you are looking for if you want black powder velocities in a .45 Long Colt with a smokeless powder that fills the case with a compressed load.

Was thinking 44 mag and 357, and possibly down the road 45/70 or 45-110. Im not afraid of black powder, but less cleanup would be nice.

The fouling left in the gun is comparable to smokeless powder, in fact, the smoke cloud out of the barrel is comparable to smokeless powder. It definitely dosn't smell like black powder smoke.

It may be just the ticket for "cowboy action" loads.

I tried BH209 in a .44 Magnum case with a .433 roundball as a bullet. I forget the actual weight but it filled the case leaving just enough room for the ball.
I shot these through a chronograph and it shot around 1100 fps with a remarkable consistancy out of a S&W model 29, I think they were all within 10-15 fps of each other.
