Check out the bird video. Imagine that coming overhead and you have a shotgun and lots of shells.

Reminds me of when I was farming and the blackbirds would get into the sunflower fields. I lost I think 50% of one field (probably 100 acre size field) to those damn things. I used to buy shells by the case and flock-shoot the whole mess of them. Best gun I ever had for that was my Norinco Trench gun. Slam fire capable (as you can seem precision shooting isn't really the name of the game here) and the cylinder bore would give a good spread to wing a greater number of them. Don't waste your time lecturing me about a "humane kill" though. A crippled bird in the field making a lot of noise tends to keep the others out of the area until at night when the coyotes would come out to eat and then the next day you go out and do it all over again. Great fun though. Unfortunately, nobody back home raises flowers anymore (corn and soybeans have taken over the market and the blackbird problem for those few remaining pretty much put an end the rest of the folks raising them) since it was something I would like my boy to have gotten into when he's old enough to go bird blasting. Ranks right up there with shooting gophers with an old .22 rifle in the cattle pastures. Simple, clean fun for farm kids...man, I do miss those days!:(
