I want a new flashlight/spotlight to keep in the truck. Few requirements:

Mountable in some type of cradle/bracket
At least 200 lumens
Must charge in the mount without any disassembly.
Less than $150 or so.

I've found 2 lights so far that fit the criteria. Any others? Experience with others?

Streamlight UltraStinger

295 lumens for "up to 1 hr"

Inputs? The Black Bear lights look great, but I think you have to disassemble the light to recharge them.

Yes, you have to unscrew the tail-cap to recharge the Borealis, you can plug the charger into the Borealis' battery carrier without taking the carrier out, if you wish.

I'd go LED and forget about carrying 2#s of flashlight plus they last longer and are variable.

The single bulb, single D cell that I carry in my hunt pack is going on 4 yrs. and was used pretty extensively during Francis, son of Ivan, Jean and Wilma plus hunts. I just checked one that came with a BMW and is about 13 yrs. old, still works fine on the original batteries although I don't want to see what THEY look like.

I have a 4 D cell maglight and have had it in the truck box for years replace the batteries every couple of years just to be sure and it has never failed me or my family.

I don't have the Ultra Stinger but I do know that Streamlight makes a fine light.

Good Luck.
