I need comments about the use of this scope on a 308 rifle. Good price but is it strong enough? Thanks beforehand, thud.-

Is it strong enough in power or strong enough to substain a .308 recoil?

Either way, the Banner series are good scopes for the money and you won't have a problem with one. I have a 6 x 18 on my 7mm Rem Mag and it can certainly hold up to the recoil. Very good scope and pulls in huge amount of light at dawn and dusk.

I'd spend the extra and get one in the Elite 3200 or 4200 series. I think it will take the beating better from the .308

Thanks both. I was asking about strong construction, by the way. Regards, THUD.-

The only Banner I had didn't make it through 2 boxes of factory 30-06 before giving up the ghost. It's now standing duty as a toy for my kids. Take glockman's advice; pony up the extra dough for a 3200 or 4200.

I have owned Banner scopes and one Bushnell 3200. Never had any issues.

I have several banners on .22 rimfires and they are fine for plinking on the range.

For a longer range/ target rifle look at at least a 3200 or a 4200 scope. I have several 4200 6-24x 40s and they are well made, bright and clear.
