have a similiar post on smitty side, no answers thought try you all, wanting to put a sling on a winchester 140 only problem is I got a stud to put thru the magazine cap when took cap off there was a small hole in outside right in center on inside no hole but some kind of disk just hair smaller than cap and just slightly raised off bottom of cap. is this some type of vent? would it hurt to drill it out to 1/8 in to put stud in. winchester said they would install stud for 35.00 all they would say I emailed them back and asked if it would hurt cycling or function of gun now or in future no response to date, month. anyone out there know?
