I am using a Model 24 for Cowboy Action Shooting, had the damaged barrel cut down to 20" but the safety is automatically turned "ON" when the action lever is used and the barrels do not open completely because there seems to be some resistence from a spring in the action. Can anything be done to eliminate these issues. PaPa Chet
