Mr. Stringer and all: I have a Leupold Vari-X III 4.5-14 scope and have a small problem. I was told by a friend that you can "set" the scope turrets by loosening the small allen screws and when you have your initial zero, you spin the turret to that setting and retighten the screws. Can this be done? If so can all of you enlighten me ? Thanks

Ursus, yes. Their turrets are designed for this. George

uuummm...o.k. Now the REAL question. How does one do it? I don't have the box or the directions, I got it slightly used. Is the process difficult? Thanks.

ursus,

what I have found that works;

sight in the rifle to the range zero you want,

then loosen the allen set screws and turn the adjust knob to align the zero on the knob with the center line on scope, tighten allen screws and your set. adjustments can be made in the field and can be returned to zero.

I zero my rifle then record settings at various ranges and put a sticker on the stock for reference.

hope this helps

Jeff thanks, I was just being cautious because sometimes I have a tendency to break things.
